The key purpose of an access control system is to regulate and monitor access at each door. From 24 hour access, to time-zone limited access, to no access, you set specific conditions that apply for each individual at every door.

Allow office employees to enter via the lobby door after 8:00 a.m.; allow factory employees to enter via a side door after 7:00 a.m., and only if a supervisor has arrived. Set the lobby door to automatically unlock from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. allowing visitors unrestricted access to the reception area.

You assign individuals to door groups based on access needs and security levels. For example, you might assign new employees to a group with access limited to weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., while you assign senior managers to a different group with 24 hour access.
